1. What does the Office of the Auditor General do? The Auditor-General audits the State Revenue Fund and performs all other functions assigned to him or her by the Government or by Act of Parliament and reports annually to the National Assembly thereon.

2. Who appoints the Auditor General of Namibia? The Auditor-General is appointed by the President on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission and with the approval of the National Assembly. The Auditor-General holds office for five (5) years and is eligible for re-appointment.

3. What types of audits do you conduct? OAG performs financial, compliance, performance and special audits. Our financial audits examine if financial records fairly represent the fiscal activities of the organisation. Compliance audits assess if organizations follow key laws and policies. Performance audits evaluate the economy, efficiency and effectiveness of Government programs and systems.

4. How often do your audits occur? The OAG carries out annual audits of all Government entities, as mandated in Namibia's Constitution. Special audits may be undertaken upon request form the entity at any given time.

5. Where can I access the OAG's reports? All our audit reports are public records. They are submitted to Parliament for tabling and are made available on our website at www.oag.gov.na once tabled. Hard copies can also be accessed at our head office on 123 Robert Mugabe Avenue, Windhoek, Namibia. Alternatively, you may request info@oag.gov.na to send you a soft copy.

6. What do I do if I suspect misuse of funds by Government organization? You can report it in confidence on our feedback button on our website at www.oag.gov.na . We evaluate all credible complaints and determine if special audit is warranted.

7. Can my university class get a tour of the OAG office? Yes, we do offer tours and guest lectures by request for student groups above 10 people. Please contact us at info@oag.gov.na . Our team will help schedule based on availability.
